City walk in Copenhagen

Half day tour in the Middelage historical city of Copenhagen.

Experience the historical part of Copenhagen - Inner City. A historical walk in the Inner City present the various styles of arcitecture and the various functions. It also gives you an experience of modern Copenhagen.

Copenhagen is a very old town more than 800 hundred years ago Bishop Absalon was given the area by the king as a present. He build a castle on an islet at the cost and provided this tiny fishermans settlement "Harbour" with a fortication.

Since then Copenhagen has wittnessed a grat deal. The Kings settled in the town. The Danish King Christian IV expanded the town and made Copenhagen a "real" capital with castles. Both wars and fires have ravage the town and new neigbourhoods were built.

When the town opened up around 1850 and the rampars were demolished, Copenhagen quickly grew out of the old surround. Where the rampars were before, we today have Town Hall Square, also roads and parks including Tivoli. But the town still grows and changes. New neighbourhoods develop where industry priviously occupied the space, among other places along the Harbour front.

Today Copenhagen is a beautiful old town. Unlike many other capitals, we only have very few high-rise buildings.

Going for a stroll through the streets and old squares of the town, you will always be in touch with the wheater, the sky and the light.

Copenhagen Harbour

The Port of Copenhagen is Copenhagen history at its best.

The harbor is the focal point for a large part of the development that the entire city has benefited from in the last 30 years.

A trip along the Inner Harbor is at the same time a trip through the city's many sustainable solutions and initiatives, which have made Copenhagen famous all over the world.

Walking around Copenhagen Harbor is an experience of the latest architecture in Copenhagen with BLOX, Lille Langebro, Cirkelbroen, Krøyers Plads, Hotel på Christianshavn, Papirøen, Inderhavnsbroen, Kuespilhuset, Sankt Annæ Plads, Ofelia Plads

The walk can be combined with many other walks or bike tours.
